O.A.R. (Of A Revolution) is perhaps one of the most successful bands to capitalize on the emergence of the Internet. Formed in the late 90s, the Maryland-borne band became famous among college students in the mid-2000s when their songs became a staple for rock and reggae fans in several digital download services like Napster. With their trademark blend of ballads, fast-paced fun, and serious grandeur tones, O.A.R.’s popularity became apparent. Although they have put out several records, their breakthrough did not happen until 2005, when they released their multi-platinum album titled “Stories of a Stranger.” The hit songs "Heard the World,” "Love and Memories,” and "Lay Down" showed the music world that the Marc Roberge-led band is someone to watch out for.
Since the band's conception 25 years ago, they've gone on countless tours and live performances — along with several successful songs and multiple chart-topping releases. Started as a college group that worked their way up to the industry, they have now sold billions of records and have performed in front of millions of people. As an independent band, they worked their way in managing themselves by working the internet and building an identifiable sound. They have a significant but elusive sound rooted in a rock/reggae fusion. Their studio record, "Stories of a Stranger," produced radio favorites "Love and Memories" and "Heard the World": two of the most listened-to songs of their career. This year, they'll be jamming out again with their album staples and fan-favorite singles "Black Rock" and "That Was A Crazy Game of Poker." They've created anthems of songs that make their way to almost every live show, and it still never gets old.
This year, for the summer of 2024, they'll be out for another showcase of their long years of bold and incredible body of work. Together with special guest Ripe, they'll rock the stage in upcoming dates. They'll be at the Jacobs Pavilion to pack the seats and get the heat on for the year along with the riveting indie group Fitz and the Tantrums, so make sure to reserve those tickets because it's going to be a hot summer with these rock n roll legends. Catch them on the 25th of August on the most popular waterfront complex in Cleveland. Get your tickets now!
